Description nixpenguin 2006-02-20 15:38:36 EST
ut_paradise (http://www.cranework.com/Downloads/games/UrT_Maps/ut_Paradise.pk3) is broken completely; the client dies with signal 8. However, it also has problems in idQ3 (I've seen shader errors in the console while playing online), but is still playable.

ut_filtration is ... odd. There might be more than one issue with this map. I am unable to load it in single player with /map: ERROR: CL_ParseGamestate: bad command byte. Still, I've played it on remote servers with the ioQ3 client, oddly. As well, ISTR a crash when I attempted to use one of the lifts (one in the corner of each base).

ut_paradise uses some 4 bit wav files. The new wav decoder assumed nobody was fucking stupid enough to use less than 8 bit, and promptly died after a div0. Now it just refuses to load anything less than 8 bit. The upside is it won't crash any more, the downside is that it'll use the default sound for those wavs. Supporting 4 bit wavs really seems like more trouble than it's worth.

I couldn't reproduce either of your problems with ut_filtration. The fact it works online implies it may be a purity issue on your part (i.e. you have some spurious version of ut_filtration hiding away somewhere). If this isn't the problem, or you figure out some different reproduction steps, feel free to reopen the bug.

Setting a QA contact on all ioquake3 bugs, even resolved ones. Sorry if you get a flood of email from this, it should only happen once. Apologies for the incovenience.
