Description Chris Gianelloni 2006-03-30 20:58:03 EST
We are currently using the "fix" from FreeBSD, but would love to see a proper fix.

Thanks

I hate this bug, lets squash it in a manner that leaves the botlib.log intact somewhere appropriate. Say, ~/.q3a on Linux, and other appropriate places elsewhere. The FreeBSD "fix" is totally unacceptable.

Comment 6 Erik Auerswald 2006-04-21 07:30:17 EDT
the current fix is not good enough, see the additional attachments
Comment 7 Thilo Schulz 2006-04-21 13:08:06 EDT
I applied the patches to fix the problem and fixed another few bugs I stumbled over during testing.
Keep in mind though, that if people don't use the updated game VM the botlib.log file never gets created in the first place, which probably isn't a big problem if you consider that only developers want to see that file anyways.
Comment 8 Erik Auerswald 2006-04-22 03:10:59 EDT
this problem should be made obvious to any users (mentioned in the README, put on the "help" web page) since it concerns many fixes done to ioq3
Comment 9 Ryan C. Gordon 2007-05-21 11:25:17 EDT
Setting a QA contact on all ioquake3 bugs, even resolved ones. Sorry if you get a flood of email from this, it should only happen once. Apologies for the incovenience.
