Description David Severwright 2007-08-23 10:07:40 EDT
I did some testing, works with Lakitu7's latest, doesn't work with SVN though.
With SVN all that happened was it printed a space by my name. Should probably filter all whitespace messages out, but that's a different issue.

So, not a bug. I'll go tell Lakitu7.

Yeah, I appretiate the report and I'll take care of it, but please put stuff like this in the forums thread instead of here unless it also applies to svn with backport only. I'm sure Timbo and co. would rather not try to go chasing bugs in code that's not even in svn.

I have verified that this is a bug introduced by my patches, not in svn. Closing.

I recently upgraded my trem server to Lakitu7's 5.x series QVM, which includes code from a very recent SVN snapshot I understand (966). Unfortunately, I don't know if this bug is introduced in SVN, or one of his patches.

To reproduce:
1) Any user sends some chat text (all, team or pvtmsg)
2) Any user (can be same) opens messagemode, types a space and enter
3) Text from #1, minus a few leading characters, is sent out to all

Not only can it be annoying if someone just keeps hitting 't'<space><enter> and seems like a parrot, but it could be bad if something more sensitive is being sent to another player at that time. As an example, last night a player's pvtmsg to console was repeated to all.

Can't reproduce this here. Retest with SVN?
