Description Stan Rosenbaum 2004-08-19 16:42:44 EDT
UT 2004 does not responce to mouse and keyboard in gameplay if being run in a secondary "standard"
[non-admin] account on Mac OS.

I can navigate through the menus, but if I am trying to play in-game, I got nothing.

This is due to a screwup in the latest patch; the way to fix this:

  1) Find your ut2004 installation.
  2) Right-click/control-click the game's icon.
  3) On the popup menu that appears, select "Show Package Contents"
  4) In the folder window that opens, find the "System" folder.
  5) In "System", there's a "User.ini" file. Drag it to the trash.
  6) Close out those folder windows.
  7) Go to your home folder, find the "Library" folder.
  8) In "Library", find "Application Support"
  9) In "Application Support", find "Unreal Tournament 2004"
  10) Put "Unreal Tournament 2004" in the trash.

Next time you run the game, it should work. You only have to do this once per
installation, and it only happens if you patch the game to 3236 before a given
user account runs the game for the first time...basically it copies the bogus
User.ini file to the user's preferences if it doesn't exist. Non-3236 patches
will not have this bogus file.
