Description Brian Manning 2007-04-05 23:01:08 EDT
I am coming across a glitch in the ioQuake engine in regards to gamma control, I am finding that r_gamma has zero effect in windowed mode on my two machines.

However, full-screen mode, it works, and if I set it in full-screen, then alt-enter to windowed mode... the gamma I set will stay for the map duration. (if I vid_restart, it goes away)

I have tried playing with r_ignorehwgamma and r_ext_gammacontrol, but to no effect.

I tried both i386 and x86_64 builds.

Below are my software versions:

ioquake3-1.34-rc3
Fedora Core 6 (x86_64) w/ all updates as of 4/5/07
Xorg 7.1.1 (1.1.1-47.7.fc6)
NVIDIA driver 97.55 (installed from the NVIDIA installer)
KDE 3.5.6 (3.5.6-0.1.fc6)
Beryl & Emerald 0.2.0 (0.2.0-1.fc6) (I list these as they are my effect/window managers)

I have tried it without the Beryl loaded as well, as I know sometimes that can cause opengl apps to act strangely. But got the same problem.

Setting a QA contact on all ioquake3 bugs, even resolved ones. Sorry if you get a flood of email from this, it should only happen once. Apologies for the incovenience.

Sounds suspiciously like a dupe of #2785. If not, feel free to reopen.
