Hi,

David just started giving out Lugaru for free over the holidays, so I went ahead and got myself a Key. When I downloaded the demo, though, I found, that the game immediately crashes when I click on anything in the Menu - even the background.

When I use the libsdl that came with lugaru, I get:

Xlib:  extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

When I symlink the libSDL from my system, I just get:

zsh: segmentation fault  ./lugaru

Tried it with compiz on or off. Another user on the wolfire forums also complained about this. It seems like using the windows version with wine is the only way to play right now, which is pretty sad.

I hope you'll get a bugfix ready quickly.

I have the same problem. Occasionally it will cause X to crash and restart, though I haven't been able to find any evidence as to why in the logs. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong spot.

I can't reproduce this here; can someone give me ssh access to their machine so I can run the game under a debugger on a system that's crashing?
