Stderr output from a crash
Psyconauts runs perfectly for me (including the intro movie) until a cutscene is played. The problem first cropped up when entering Basic Braining. The game crashed when attempting to play the cutscene of Raz projecting himself into Coach. After several tries the thing finally played, albiet without sound. In the next scene where a projector plays on a wall, the wall is blank (apparently it's supposed to be Coach there). I managed to play until the end of Basic Braining to the cutscene beginning in the while hallway. It crashes there about 60% of the time and plays without sound about 40% of the time. After it plays, the second cutscene (where Raz is invited to the lab) plays (oddly with sound) and then the game invariably crashes.
System info:
Debian Sid
Nvidia GT 520 with official drivers, running two monitors (I disable the second monitor when playing)
3 GHz Pentium Dual-Core with 4GB RAM
I've messed with all the settings in the Graphics menu, nothing seems to make a difference. I'm a fairly advanced Linux user, I'd be happy to help solve this any way I can. Thanks!
P.S I've attached a (rather long) file containing Psyconauts full output to stderr. The error messages seem to change from run to run.
The main problem that the game crash when a cutscene is playing is the wrong name
PSYCHONAUTS UNIX FILENAME:
corrected 'WorkResource/cutscenes/prerendered/sacu_face1_implosion.bik' to 'WorkResource/cutscenes/prerendered/SACU_Face1_implosion.bik'
This is one example. In the attachment of Isaac Smiths Bugreport it gives a lot of the same fails.
I had also this problem and the simple thing I do is to edit the cutscenes files by my own that they have all lower case names.
I hope this works not only for me

That's not an error, it's saying that it noticed the different case and found the correct filename.

But he don`t find the right filename and crash.
When all files have a name with only lower case it works perfectly for me.
(I'm adding this comment to many bugs that this fix might apply to...sorry if you see it multiple times or it doesn't _actually_ fix your issue.)
Here is a new test build, please try it and report back. It's a 2.1 megabyte
download, so you don't have to redownload the whole game again.
This is meant to fix crash bugs mostly. We still have rendering issues, etc to sort out. If this didn't fix your issue, please report it on this bug. If there are still other unrelated issues, please file a new bug or add yourself to the CC list of one of the other bugs. Here's the open bug list if you want to check for others with the same problem:
https://bugzilla.icculus.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=specific&bug_status=__open__&product=Psychonauts
Steam users: you'll get this through Steam shortly.
Linux users, download this...
http://treefort.icculus.org/psychonauts/psychonauts-linux-0.3-patch.tar.bz2
...and unpack it. Overwrite Psychonauts and libSDL-1.2.so.0 with it. This works with either of the first two builds from HumbleBundle.com.
Mac users that aren't using Steam, download this...
http://treefort.icculus.org/psychonauts/psychonauts-mac-0.3-patch.tar.bz2
...double click it, and run the patcher program it produces.
We'll do a more formal build once we get some feedback.
