Description Andreas Fischer 2012-12-24 10:20:57 EST
My copy of Dungeon Defenders forgets all in-game progress after shutdown. Whenever I start the game, all DLCs have to be acknowledged again, settings are at their default values, and all created characters and all level progress is lost.

I have full write access to the folder and don't get any noticeable errors - neither on the commandline nor in the logs in ~/.local/share/DungeonDefenders/

My architecture is amd64 (if that's important)

It looks like it tries to save progress in the installation directory, not in $HOME. It seems progress is saved in /usr/local/games/DungeonDefenders/Engine/Config/DunDefHeroes.dun

That's definitely a bug. Meanwhile as a workaround, change the permissions.

Acknowledged - giving me read/write permissions on that file seems to fix the problem. Thanks for the hint. I suspected something like that, but that particular file escaped me.

Agreed, that should have been written elsewhere. We'll fix that for the next build.

Sorry about that.

Marking several bugs as FIXED. There's a new build for the new Humble Bundle that resolves this issue. Log in to your Humble Bundle account and redownload the game to get the latest version.

(I'll put up a set of files that represent the difference between the two builds; they added more DLC since the first bundle, so you're going to have to download a few hundred megabytes, but it's better than a 5+ gigabytes. I'll try to do that tomorrow.)
