Created attachment 3421 [details]
windows_off_center.png

These are my specs;

Slackware 14.1 x86_64
Openbox 3.5.2 (git)
Nvidia GTX660M - drivers 331.49
xorg-server-1.14.3

I noticed if you make any window big, around 75% the size of the desktop space and you try and open the window this big it will not center on the desktop, for me they always appear to the left lower side of the screen.

Please take a look at the attached screen shot of firefox I resized to a big window then when I tried to open it, how it appears left/lower side instead of centered.

If you need any further information please let me know.

I hope this can get fixed soon.

thank you

Ok I forgot to test this without tint2 & conky and I found out with conky running at the top of my screen as you see in the screen shot this causes windows to not center.

I'm not sure if this is a conky bug, or an issue with Openbox, but I will also report this to Conky as well...

thank you

In Conky, use own window with type override. This should stop it from setting struts, thereby reducing your workspace in which to center windows you're opening. If the problem persists, please let us know what xprop, obxprop and xwininfo say about the conky window and the window that's not centering where you think it should.
