Description blake_pettersson 2004-12-02 04:48:56 EST
As the title says apps disappear when i activate/disactivate the composite
extension, using xcompmgr from cvs. I've added xcompmgr to the menu, so when I
activate/kill it in an empty desktop, apps on other virtual desktops are not
affected. However if I happen to activate or kill it when other apps happen to
run, they simply disappear. They don't get shut down, since according to ps aux
the processes are still running, they simply disappear, but the apps are nowhere
to be found on the desktop or in the client-list-menu. This does not happen when
using fluxbox, so I suspect that it's an openbox problem. I'm using xorg 6.8.0,
xcompmgr from cvs, the latest nvidia drivers and kernel 2.6.7.

i can confirm this bug, openbox 3.2-2.rhfc3.nr, fedora 4, nvidia 8756 drivers, 2.6.16 kernel

even opening up a gnome-panel does not list the windows in the task bar, but causing the window to focus brings back that window (for synaptic, just run synaptic again and it brings it to focus, for mozilla, you run another instance of mozilla and the disappeared windows show up in the window list )

The patch from #2850 fixes this problem, so I guess it's safe to call this a dupe.

#2850 has been fixed in svn, so i'm assuming this is too.
