After I installed the patch for the retail version, the down button on the  
inverted t no longer functions in the game. The backwards function will work  
if set to another key though.

This is already fixed in my tree. Discussion is in Bug #206. There'll be another
patch soon (mostly waiting for Epic to settle on an official win32 version so I
have something to sync to).

If you _must_ have the down key to play, you should stick with the original
retail version until the next patch is released. Sorry about that.
