This is a placeholder bug that I'm going to apply a bunch of duplicate bugs to, as a catch-all for all the zany memory corruptions and race condition crashes that existed before 0.3.

My belief is that all the dupes are symptoms of these things, and fixed by 0.2 or 0.3.

Hopefully going forward, the bugs will be less random.  :)

I tried the new v0.3 pre-release and eventually the sound went wrong in the same kind of way as it did when I opened #5650. That is, audio samples cut off well before they're finished.

Thanks to everyone that tolerated all the duplicate bug notification spam.  :)

I _think_ that all the bugs duped here are fixed (and/or are dupes), so I'm resolving this bug as FIXED. This was necessary to wrangle Bugzilla into a state where we could manage the bug reports.

If you think your bug is still alive in 0.3 or later (as Rob noted in Comment #31), please feel free to reopen the bug, or comment here and we'll look into the problem further.

If you have an unrelated problem, please open a new bug report or add yourself to the CC list of someone else's report.

If you're good to go, you can feel free to remove yourself from the CC list on this bug and it'll stop bothering you.

I reopened bug #5684 as it is most definitely still alive in version 0.3 and I'd like to be able to play past basic braining by the next patch.

Hi,

My first bug report mentioned that the voice acting in Psychonauts was constantly being cut off. I was only able to hear part of the first word when ever someone talked. I am at the part in the game were you go to Sasha's Lab. With the new patch the sound was working all right, but all of a sudden the sounds for the voice acting stopped again. This time there were no sounds when someone spoke.
